The Mechanism Behind Titanium Nitride Coating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have released our latest video on the official Suga Seisakusho YouTube channel!<\/p>\n<p>Following our previous video, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=acq7h2Hzhhg\">Coating a Cutter Blade with Titanium Nitride Using Suga Seisakusho\u2019s Sputtering System<\/a>\u201d, this video takes a closer look at how titanium nitride (TiN) is formed through reactive sputtering.<\/p>\n<p>Using Suga Seisakusho\u2019s Cubic Sputtering System \u201cSSP1000\u201d as an example, we explain how nitrogen (N\u2082) is introduced into the argon (Ar) sputtering process, allowing titanium and nitrogen to react and form a titanium nitride thin film.<\/p>\n<p>The video also explains the three types of bonding found in titanium nitride\u2014ionic, covalent, and metallic bonding\u2014as well as \u201ctarget poisoning,\u201d which can occur when too much nitrogen is introduced.
