[New Video] Coating a Cutter Blade with Titanium Nitride Using Suga Seisakusho’s Sputtering System

In this video, we use Suga Seisakusho’s Cubic Sputtering System “SSP1000” to coat a cutter blade with titanium and titanium nitride (TiN).

Titanium is deposited by sputtering, and nitrogen is then introduced to form a titanium nitride thin film through reactive sputtering. Titanium nitride is widely used as a coating material for cutting tools and other applications.

In this experiment, we applied these coatings to a common cutter blade and observed the changes in its appearance. At the end of the video, we also compare the cutting performance of three blades: an uncoated blade, a titanium-coated blade, and a titanium nitride-coated blade.
